Project Brow: An update

Today I thought I’d give you all a little update on my eyebrows (don’t I spoil you). If you’ve been reading for a few months you will of seen my posts about Project Brow, and my plan to grow my eyebrows and have them full and lovely by the wedding. Well guess what. I grew my eyebrows, they were thick and groomed, and I hated them! I don’t mean I needed to get used to them, I genuinely hated them.

Review: Murad Pom-Power Pore Cleansing Facial

murad-beauty-room

The warm and inviting Murad Beauty Room

For me a facial is one of the best forms of relaxation. You lie back, let someone else give your skin a fantastic cleanse and with any luck come out looking brighter and more rested. So I’m always looking to try out new treatments.

Today I decided to go for the Murad Pom-Power Pore Cleansing Facial. An express 30 minute treatment to cleanse and tone skin and leave it feeling refreshed.

Review: InstaNatural Cellulite Cream

Despite being someone who regularly exercises (I’ve run 3 marathons), I never seem to be able to shift the stubborn cellulite on my thighs. I go to the gym, eat well, exfoliate but it’s always there. In clothes I feel fine but once anywhere above my knee is exposed I feel a little self conscious. As the honeymoon is now booked (eeeek) I want my body to look in its best condition so I’m keen to try products that will help me achieve smooth looking skin.

Perfectil Review – 3 weeks

perfectil box

The trial box that got me started

A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted to get my hair in tip top condition for my wedding. Aside from cutting down on heat styling this has also meant starting to take a vitamin supplement specifically designed for hair.

I’d previously been given a sample of Perfectil at a wedding fair, and as this is formulated for skin, hair and nails it seemed worth trying it out. I’ve been using them for 3 weeks now so I thought I’d give you a little review. Continue reading

Step away from the straighteners

GHDs and Perfectil

Depending on your view I was blessed/cursed with curly (read wild, uncontrollable, frizzy) hair. As a child it wasn’t too bad, the length and weight meant that it stayed straightish once blow dried and aside from my frizzy corners (mum said I was the only person she knew whose head had corners) I coped with my mop for many years. Rewind to 2003, my 24th birthday to be precise and this is where things began to change. I was desperate to have lovely straight, sleek hair and I was lured by the promise of glossy locks into begging my parents for a set of GHD straighteners. Overnight my hair went from fluffy frizz ball into super shiny uber STRAIGHT locks. I was in love. My hair was manageable (once straightened) and was poker straight like I’d always dreamed.
